If you have obtained your paramedic training outside of the province of Ontario and are looking to join our team, please visit the Ontario Ministry of Health for more information on the Ontario Paramedic Equivalency Process.
Superior North EMS Recruitment & Selection Process Stages
| 1. Application Period |
|
Applicants must apply online within the posted timeframe. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
Applications must include all required documentation, as referenced in the job description. |
| 2. Shortlisting |
|
This stage allows for a comparison of applicants based on minimum threshold qualifications as outlined in the job description.
|
| 3. Interview |
|
The interviews will be held in person utilizing the Multi Mini Interview (MMI) process.
The interview process is designed to assess non-technical competencies, including but not limited to:
A valid piece of government-issued photo identification will be required throughout the recruitment process. |
| 4. BLS Written Exam |
|
| 5. Reference Checks |
|
Reference checks are completed for leading candidates to validate information provided and to obtain an overall assessment of job performance from previous employers.

| 6. Conditional Offers of Employment |
|
Conditional offers will be issued outlining required conditions of employment and associated timelines.
All conditions must be met within the specified timeframe to maintain employment eligibility.
Details on the required documentation will be clearly communicated to candidates at point of offer. |
| 7. Orientation |
|
Successful candidates will be required to attend a mandatory Corporate and SNEMS orientation.
Additional details, including dates, schedules, and expectations, will be provided upon confirmation of employment. |
