The City of Thunder Bay is inviting residents of all ages to share ‘What Makes Thunder Bay Great’ as part of a new community storytelling campaign.
Individuals and groups are encouraged to submit short written reflections about what they love about the city today, and what gives it potential for the future. Submissions may be featured in the City's Smart Growth Action Plan, online, and in future community promotions.
"We know Thunder Bay has incredible stories, of pride, perseverance, and possibility," said City Manager John Collin. "This campaign is about capturing those stories and celebrating the spirit of our community as we plan for Smart Growth and a strong future."
Participants can submit a short, written piece of up to 250 words, online at thunderbay.ca/getinvolved, by email to great@thunderbay.ca, or in person at City Hall.
Entries from minors must be submitted by a parent or guardian.
All entries will be entered into a random prize draw, with prizes awarded in three age categories: Children and Youth (17 and under), Young Adult/Student (18–25), and Adult (26+). One Grand Prize Winner will have their full submission featured in the Smart Growth Action Plan and will receive an Ultimate City of Thunder Bay Prize Pack, including local experiences and City program passes.
The submission deadline is June 1.
This initiative is part of the City's broader Smart Growth engagement strategy, focused on shaping a thriving, sustainable future for Thunder Bay.
