January 29, 2015 - A Loch Lomond Road resident was found guilty of illegal outdoor burning earlier this week in Provincial Offences court and was fined $350. The charge stems from a July 2014 incident.

"Any outside burning within the City of Thunder Bay requires an annual permit," said Fire Chief John Hay. "Permit rules and regulations are strictly enforced."

Burning permits are valid for the calendar year and must be renewed following the New Year. Permits can be easily renewed online. For more information or to apply or renew an outdoor burning permit, go to thunderbay.ca/fire
