The City of Thunder Bay invites residents to come and learn more about what’s in store for arts, culture and heritage as the Recreation and Culture division presents the draft framework for its new Culture Plan. The drop-in style evening event, “Culture Vibes”, features live music and art activities, while also offering the public an opportunity to influence future strategies and cultural development in support of the arts, heritage, and cultural sector.

“The plan will help ensure that the community has access and the necessary supports in place to engage with the arts, culture and heritage sector,” said Louisa Costanzo, Supervisor of Cultural Development, Community Programming & Events. “We are excited to connect with the community tonight for this interactive opportunity in a creative setting featuring some of the amazing local talent our city has to offer.”

Culture Vibes runs from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 5 at the Baggage Building Arts Centre. The free-to-attend event features musical performances by Sara Kae, accompanied by Carter Fountaine, and Morning Light Acoustic Duo, and a collaborative, family-friendly art-based activity lead by the Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP).

To those unable to attend the open house but want to provide feedback for the plan, they can do so online via the City’s Get Involved platform at New Thunder Bay Culture Plan | Get Involved Thunder Bay.
