OCTOBER 20-26 2019

WHEREAS; The week of October 20 to October 26, 2019 will be celebrated in Ontario as Local Government Week; and

WHEREAS; The Province of Ontario, AMCTO (Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario) and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario have partnered to develop a Local Government Week; and

WHEREAS; The municipalities across the province have been asked to participate in this initiative to celebrate the key role that Ontario local governments play within the Province; and

WHEREAS; This is an opportunity for our youth and other local citizens to learn about municipal government and become more informed and engaged members of the community; and

THEREFORE, I, Bill Mauro, Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay, do hereby proclaim the week of October 20 to October 26, 2019 as "Local Government Week" in the City of Thunder Bay, and encourage all residents to learn more about your local government.
