A new Multi-Year Accessibility Plan is underway, which will help identify and remove barriers to accessibility in Thunder Bay.

The plan, created by the Accessibility Advisory Committee will look at potential accessibility issues and determine the best response to possible barriers.

Accessibility comprises many categories including accessible physical design (e.g., curbs and sidewalks), and accessible customer service for all people.

“Our goal is to make Thunder Bay a barrier-free city, so all people living and visiting here can take advantage of all our municipal services,” said Scott Garner, Municipal Accessibility Specialist.

The survey will remain open until Jan. 31, 2024.
