WHEREAS, PSWs ensure that people in long term care facilities, or in their homes are safe and cared for. They make every effort to provide the best possible care to them, and d it with a sense of compassion and empathy that is the badge of honour of every PSW. Now, more than ever we are thankful to our PSWs along with all health care workers on the frontlines caring for those who are affected by COVID-19.

PSW Day is an opportunity to celebrate their contributions to our community, and to our loved ones.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor Bill Mauro, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, May 19 2021, as “Personal Support Worker Day” in the City of Thunder Bay. Thank you to all the PSWs and health care workers to continue to provide this essential and vital work that directly impacts the lives of so many everyday.
