Training with a Pro: The Football Edition returns on Saturday, Dec. 22, to the Goal Sports Centre. The program offers a dry-land training clinic, where youth between the ages of 5 and 13 are given the opportunity to train with a local professional football player, all in support of PRO Kids.
Thunder Bay’s Nigel Romick of the Ottawa Redblacks and winner of the 2016 Grey Cup is returning as the special guest this year.
Assisted by St. Patrick’s High school Football Coaches, Nigel will lead a two-hour clinic that allows 35 participants to practice their football skills, and also meet one of their local heroes.
“Since my days playing at St. Patrick's High School, it's astounding to see the growth of the football community in Thunder Bay,” said Romick. “I’m so fortunate to be able to train with the kids again this year. Being able to interact with them and see their faces, not only when I have something to show them, but after they complete a drill is incredible. I am grateful to be a part of an organization like PRO Kids that gives recreation opportunities for children and youth in our city who are unable to participate in programs due to lack of funds.”
This year’s Training with a Pro: the Football Edition raised $2,100 in support of PRO Kids, a not for profit dedicated to helping local children and youth facing financial barriers access recreational activities.
PRO Kids would like to recognize and thank Tbaytel for returning as the presenting sponsor for the clinic.
