This City’s Treasure Exchange Days event returns this month. The popular event aimed at diverting waste from the landfill and giving a second life to good-condition items that are no longer needed is a great opportunity to exchange reusable household items, furniture, small appliances, toys, and more for free.
Residents who have unwanted but still useable items they wish to give away may leave them on the curb any time after 5 pm on Friday, Sept. 8, labelled “free.” Residents are then invited to tour their neighbourhoods on Sept. 9 and 10 to find treasures.
All items not taken must be removed from the curb by 7 pm on Sunday, Sept. 10. Solid Waste & Recycling Services will not collect these items.
Treasure Exchange Days, which began in 2014, is an Action Item in the City’s Solid Waste Management Strategy.
