People playing at Chippewa BeachLooking for a beach or splash pad for the family during the hot weather? There are many options for everyone to cool off in the summer months across Thunder Bay. You can also visit one of the local outdoor swimming pools for more swimming options.

Beaches

Lakes are a great, free way to cool off during the warm summer months. However, lakes can contain bacteria which may make swimming unsafe for residents. Regular water quality checks are done to ensure swimming is safe. Please check the Thunder Bay District Health Unit website for the most up-to-date water quality status of this swimming area.
