City Cemeteries to Remain Open to the General Public

After further consideration, the City will open Mountain View and St. Patrick’s Cemeteries to the public, effective immediately.
“When I learned of a decision to close the municipally owned cemeteries to visitors, I was uncomfortable as were other members of Council,” Mayor Bill Mauro said today. “I asked Administration to consider other options to accommodate concerns relative to the health and safety of staff and visitors.”

Mayor to Host Virtual Town Hall on COVID-19

Mayor Bill Mauro will host a one-hour, virtual town hall meeting along with Dr. Janet DeMille, Medical Officer of Health, on Tuesday, April 21 starting at 7 pm.
Thunder Bay residents who have questions about COVID-19 will have a chance to get answers regarding City services and information, as well as public health information.

COVID-19: Reduced Access to Victoriaville Centre & McKellar Mall

Effective immediately, the City’s Realty Services has implemented changes to the operations of Victoriaville Centre and McKellar Mall to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

As per the Ontario Government’s Emergency Declaration to stop the spread of COVID-19, and as per recommendations from the Ontario Association of Cemetery and Funeral Professionals, the Mountain View Cemetery and the St. Patrick’s Cemetery will be closed to the general public starting on Monday, April 20, until further notice.
