Treasure Exchange Days Return this Weekend

June 10, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay's popular Treasure Exchange Days return on June 13 and 14, giving residents a chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures while reducing waste.

Anyone with gently-used items they wish to give away can leave them out on the curb any time after 5 pm, on Friday, June 12. Clearly label the items FREE. Over the weekend, residents are encouraged to tour their neighbourhoods to see what treasures they can find.

Centennial Park Access Limited Due to Water Main Work

June 9, 2015 - Access to Centennial Park will be limited for the next week due to water main work.

The access road will be closed at Arundel Street to allow crews to dig a trench to replace a water main in the parking lot.

Residents are asked not to visit Centennial Park until the work is complete.

June 6, 2015 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue (TBFR) welcomed seven new firefighters today at a New Recruit Graduation Ceremony at the Thunder Bay Fire & Emergency Services Regional Training Complex.

Harbour Expressway Repaving Scheduled for June 8

June 5, 2015 - Resurfacing of the Harbour Expressway between Highway 11/17 and Golf Links Road will begin on Monday, June 8, and last approximately four weeks.

Work on the Harbour Expressway will proceed in three stages:

  • Stage One - Begins Monday, traffic movements will be permitted in an easterly direction only (i.e., travelling from Highway 11/17 to Golf Links Road), with all westbound lanes closed. Expected to take two weeks to complete.

June 4, 2015 – Thunder Bay will celebrate its rich mining heritage on June 6, which has been declared Mining Day by Mayor Keith Hobbs.
