Second Installment of 2015 Tax Bills Due May 6

April 21, 2015 - The second installment of the 2015 tax bill is due on Wednesday, May 6. The interim tax billing is based on 50 per cent of your 2014 tax rate and 2014 assessment.

Taxpayers who have not received their bill are advised to contact the Corporate Services & Long Term Care Department, Revenue Division located on the main floor of City Hall, or call 625-2255 to request a copy.

Storm Sewer Construction to Close Section of William Street

April 21, 2015 - William Street between Edward Street and Barton Street will be closed to through traffic for approximately two weeks beginning Friday, April 24, due to storm sewer construction.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes when travelling through the area. Local access to the Confederation College campus will still be available via Barton Street.

April 16, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay's Anti-Racism Advisory Committee is hosting a community engagement session on April 21, at the Italian Cultural Centre.

Carbon Monoxide Alarms Now Required

April 15, 2015 - As of today it is the law to install carbon monoxide alarms in your home if you have a fuel-burning appliance, a fireplace or an attached garage.  The law will be enforced by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue. Failure to comply with the CO alarm requirements could result in a $360 ticket or a fine of up to $50,000 for individuals or $100,000 for corporations.

Spring Curbside Battery Recycling Program Begins Tuesday

April 10, 2015 - The City's spring curbside battery recycling program returns on April 14, giving residents an opportunity to conveniently and safely recycle spent household batteries.
