Council Composition Review Committee hears desire for change

Members of Thunder Bay’s Council Composition Review Committee heard on Tuesday how survey respondents want to see change to the makeup of City Council.

659 people responded to a survey launched in January that asked the public about their desire to see changes to the makeup of City Council, or changes to wards and ward boundaries.

Outdoor Rinks Closed for the Season

Due to recent rain and warm temperatures causing significant deterioration in ice conditions at outdoor rinks, all rinks, except for the refrigerated rink at Prince Arthur’s Landing, are now closed for the season.

Water Main Repair Work May Cause Discoloured Water

The repair work required to fix a leak on a north-side trunk water main has been completed and the main will be returned to service Thursday morning. No disruptions to the water supply are expected, but residents should be aware that the work may cause discoloured water on the north side of the city.

In addition, water pressure, taste or clarity could be affected for short periods.

Contractors and do-it-yourselfers can now apply and pay for all residential building permits online, making it easier to build and develop in Thunder Bay.

The Property and Permits Portal has expanded to accept all types of residential building permit applications. The system also allows users to track the progress of building permits submitted through the Portal, and the public to search for work taking place in their neighbourhood.
