Water Rescue Ends with a Successful Rescue of a Young Female and her Dog

Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue (TBFR) responded at 14:51 to a High/Low Angle rescue at Centennial Park’s off leash Dog Park. During our response to this scene further information was received that a young female had entered the water to retrieve her dog both becoming stranded. They were located on a small rock outcrop with a cliff embankment behind them and fast moving water in front trapping them there.

Hazelwood Drive Vehicle Fire Sends One to Hospital

Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue (TBFR) responded to a report of a “loader on fire” on Hazelwood Dr.
A large plume of smoke could be seen by responding crews from several miles away. The first due pumper officer requested additional pumper units to respond also.

Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue responded at 11:40 to a Tamarack Place home this morning, Fire had started in garbage piled beside home. Wall and siding was damaged. Occupants were safely evacuated.
The quick response of the Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue service was able to keep the fire from penetrating the wall and therefore no damage to interior of home was sustained.

At 16:33 on Saturday April 20, 2019. Thunder Bay Fire Rescue received a call for a High Angle Rope Rescue on Mt. McKay. Two hikers had become stranded. 4 pumpers, a Technical rescue Technician, Technical rescue trailer, and a Kubota all-terrain vehicle, plus the Platoon Chief Attended the scene. On the afternoon of Monday, April 15, in response to a 911 call, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire at a residence in the 200 block of Banning Street.
Soon after leaving the fire station, the responding District-Chief observed heavy black smoke in the area, and called for a second alarm.
