Recycling carts coming for residential households

As of July 1, Thunder Bay residents will use wheeled recycling carts to place recycling at the curb, and blue bags will no longer be accepted.

Cart delivery to residential household addresses will begin the week of May 5 and continue into June. GFL Environmental Inc. (also known as Green For Life) will be responsible for setting up the new recycling cart system.

The City of Thunder Bay is thrilled to once again host youth events this year in celebration of National Youth Week from May 1 to May 7. The Recreation and Culture Division, along with other community partners, have arranged many fun events for youth ages 10–24 to participate in throughout the week. PRO Kids launched the third annual “Power to Play” fundraising campaign, taking place throughout the month of April. The campaign aims to raise $50,000 to help local children and youth access recreational programs when their families cannot afford the fees.
