2025 Arts & Heritage Award Winners Announced

The City of Thunder Bay is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Arts & Heritage Awards, celebrated last night at Magnus Theatre. The event featured inspiration, recognition, and community pride as attendees gathered to honour the people and organizations who shape Thunder Bay’s vibrant cultural landscape.
The 2025 award recipients are as follows:

Final Fall Leaf & Yard Waste Curbside Collection coming

The second and final Fall Leaf & Yard Waste curbside collection is set to take place between Nov. 4 and 14, four weeks after the first Fall collection.
“Just like in Fall 2024, we expect the two collections will result in more leaf and yard waste being collected and diverted from the landfill,” said Jason Sherband, Manager of Solid Waste & Recycling Services. “The extra tonnage recorded last Fall and this Spring showed us that the extra collections are a valuable service for residents.”

October 17, 2025 – The City is gearing up to host this Fall’s Thunder Bay Talks. All residents are invited to come and connect directly with City staff in a casual, fun and friendly environment. This is a drop-in, tradeshow-style event designed to inspire conversation, answer questions and build connections between the broader community and the people who provide City services.
