Thunder Bay under winter storm warning

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the City of Thunder Bay beginning this evening and extending into Wednesday. Snow and ice pellet accumulations of 15 to 25 centimetres are expected and rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult.

Be prepared for winter driving conditions:

  • Slow down,
  • Give other vehicles lots of room,
  • Have patience with other drivers, and
  • Pay extra attention for pedestrians and cyclists.

Waste Collection Changes for Week Before Easter 2023

Curbside waste collection dates will change this week due to Good Friday.

Garbage and recycling collection will move one day earlier for all residents. There will be no collection on Good Friday, Friday, April 7

The City of Thunder Bay is inviting talent, food vendors, event vendors, artists/ artisans and community groups to apply to participate in the City’s annual community events season.

The 2023 events season includes 19 event days, including two event series: Live on the Waterfront and Movie Nights in the Parks. All events are free to the public and collectively draw tens of thousands of attendees.
