The Public Notice Period has ended for municipal and public response to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) on the proposed cannabis retail store (CANNA CABANA THUNDER BAY: 572 Arthur St. W. Unit 5).

Following the announcement of recreation facilities and program closures, Tourism Thunder Bay has taken additional steps to ensure the safety of the public and City staff members. COVID-19 - Update on City Services Including Closure of Recreation Facilities

The City of Thunder Bay is closing the Canada Games Complex, 55+ Centre and other recreation facilities, effective until further notice, as part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City continued to work closely over the weekend with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and community partners to monitor developments and respond appropriately to COVID-19.

Outdoor Skating Rinks Closed for the Season

The City’s outdoor skating rinks have closed for the season due to seasonal effect. The only exception is the Prince Arthur’s Landing skating rink, which will remain open until Saturday, March 21, if weather conditions remain favourable.

The City is encouraging residents to visit Prince Arthur’s Landing skating rink, which is open every day from 11:30 am to 9 pm, until the end of March Break.
