Thunder Bay CEDC continues to support small business

The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) is pleased to announce another group of successful entrepreneurs who participated in the Starter Company Plus program. The third round of the 2020 program saw a total of ten small business owners go through the six week program. Over the past year there has been a total of thirty two local entrepreneurs to successfully complete the program and receive the $5000 grant, totaling $160,000, the highest in the program’s history.

City Invites Feedback on Virtual Summer Events

The City invites residents to share their feedback on summer events that were offered online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Participant feedback helps us maintain, modify and improve the events we offer,” said Louisa Costanzo – Supervisor, Cultural Development & Events. “This year our events were especially unique with shifting to virtual events. We’d love to hear what residents thought of this new format.”

One Extra Item of Garbage Allowed Next Week

The City will allow residents to put out a third item of garbage with no tag on the first collection date after Labour Day.
Residents are reminded to reduce waste. Reducing waste saves energy, time, money and valuable natural resources. Small changes to reduce waste in our everyday lives produce many beneficial results.
