Historic and Notable Trees

The City of Thunder Bay has many historic and valuable urban trees. Our Notable Tree Nomination program aims to bring attention to community-appreciated trees and to hlep protect them. View the Thunder Bay Notable Tree Map to find Notable Trees in your area and to determine if the tree you appreciate is already on the list.

Nominate a tree

You can nominate any trees within the City limits. If you believe that a tree, or a stand of trees, is of cultural, historical, or biological importance, let us know. Notable trees can be on public lands or if permission is granted of the owner, private land. City's Forestry and Horticulture staff will review all nominations prior to adding them to our Notable Tree list.
