Extended Section of Balmoral Street to Be Fully Closed

Beginning on Monday, July 11, Balmoral Street between Alloy Drive and Jasper Drive will be closed in both directions. Northbound and southbound traffic will be detoured via Central Avenue. The intersection at Balmoral Street and Central Avenue will remain open to through traffic on Central Avenue only.
During the closure, Thunder Bay Police Services may be accessed via Central Avenue, and access to Grassroots Church and Evangel Church will be available via Lithium Drive.

Paving Work to Begin July 7 on Section of Memorial Avenue

Pavement resurfacing work will begin on Memorial Avenue between Central Avenue and Second Avenue on Thursday, July 7. The work is expected to take approximately five weeks to complete, but weather conditions and other factors may impact project timelines.
Traffic on Memorial Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction during construction.

The City of Thunder Bay has activated two more pedestrian crossovers - located at Shuniah Street and Huron Avenue, and at Edward Street and Isabella Street - bringing the total number of pedestrian crossovers in Thunder Bay to 17.

The City of Thunder Bay is happy to announce the upcoming, FREE activities and entertainment for Canada Day this year, presented by Ontario Power Generation, on Monday, July 1, at Marina Park.
