Pride Crosswalks Scheduled for Completion This Week

Installation of Pride crosswalks continues at two intersections: the first at the intersection of Donald Street and May Street, and the second at the intersection of Bay Street and Algoma Street.
The crosswalk painting has necessitated partial road closures at each location.

Safety Decals Installed at CN Rail Trail Crossing for Rail Safety Week

City workers installed eye-catching “Look. Listen. Live.” safety decals today at the point where CN Rail tracks cross the multi-use trail beside the Neebing Floodway. The decals will enhance the safety of trail users by reminding them to check for approaching trains at the rail crossing.
“We’re pleased to be able to add the decals during Rail Safety Week, and make the crossing safer for trail users overall,” said Brad Adams, the City’s Manager of Roads.

Thunder Bay Road Work Season Continues into Fall

The City of Thunder Bay is investing $18 million in 2020 on road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sanitary and storm sewers, watermain repair/replacement, bridge and culvert work, and streetlight renewal.
Road work can result in road closures, detours and delays for drivers. All residents are reminded to reduce their speed, be alert, watch for workers and drive with extra care in construction zones.

Thunder Bay CEDC continues to support small business

The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) is pleased to announce another group of successful entrepreneurs who participated in the Starter Company Plus program. The third round of the 2020 program saw a total of ten small business owners go through the six week program. Over the past year there has been a total of thirty two local entrepreneurs to successfully complete the program and receive the $5000 grant, totaling $160,000, the highest in the program’s history.
