Conservatory Tropical Display Reopens

Thunder Bay’s Centennial Conservatory will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Visitors must follow posted safety protocols, including wearing masks and maintaining physical distancing of two metres between individuals not from the same household. Separate entrance and exit doors will be used, and a sanitizer station will be available at the entrance. Staff will be on-site to monitor user activity, but will not be posted at the door.

City Invites Feedback on Virtual Summer Events

The City invites residents to share their feedback on summer events that were offered online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

“Participant feedback helps us maintain, modify and improve the events we offer,” said Louisa Costanzo – Supervisor, Cultural Development & Events. “This year our events were especially unique with shifting to virtual events. We’d love to hear what residents thought of this new format.”

Single Lane Closure Along Harbour Expressway

Maintenance to the hydro towers along the Harbour Expressway will begin Sept. 14 and is expected to be completed Oct. 16. The work at Balmoral Street and Golf Links Road will require a rolling closure of one westbound lane of Harbour Expressway and one southbound lane on Golf Links Road.

Pedestrians using the multi-use trail at Golf Links Road and the Harbour Expressway may find detours posted.  Please follow the signed routes to navigate the area.

Simpson Street Closed Sunday Between Donald Street and May Street

On Sunday, Sept. 13, Simpson Street between Donald Street and May Street (where it meets Arthur Street) will be closed in both directions from 7 am to 7 pm for sewer and water work. 

Motorists are asked to plan an alternate route and drive with caution.

Partial Closures of Balmoral Street at Harbour Expressway

Balmoral Street at the Harbour Expressway will be closed intermittently, one lane at a time, over the next two days to facilitate paving operations.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to drive with caution and obey posted signage.
