Section of 25th Side Road to be Closed on July 18

COVID-19: Paid Parking Returns and Changes to Transit and Long-Term Care

Effective Monday, July 20, paid parking at metered spaces will return and Transit will once again begin front boarding and require fares. Pioneer Ridge Long-Term Care Home and Jasper Supportive Housing have also begun a staged approach to reopening to visitors following yesterday’s provincial announcement.

Section of James Street Closed for Paving

James Street from Frederica Street to Kingston Street is closed to through traffic for final grading and paving. Completion of the work is expected by the end of next week. The construction schedule is subject to change, as various factors, such as weather, can have an impact on project timelines. 

Businesses within the construction zone remain open and can be accessed using the adjacent side streets. Drivers travelling to these businesses are considered local traffic.

Section of Mountain Road Will Be Closed July 16

A section of Mountain Road between Chippewa Road and 15th Side Road will be closed on July 16 from 8am to 6pm for the installation of new underground infrastructure.

Local access to the northern portion of this closure will be available from Chippewa Road as far as 725 Mountain Road, but no through traffic. Local traffic originating south of this point will be required to access Hwy 61 via 15th Side Road during the closure. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and obey posted signage.
