Section of James Street to Close for Storm Sewer Work

Starting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, James Street North, between Parkway Drive and Victoria Avenue will be closed for storm sewer work.

Motorists travelling south can follow posted signage to Parkway Drive to Edward Street to Victoria Avenue. Motorists travelling north can follow signage and take Victoria Avenue to Edward Street to Churchill Drive.

Construction is expected to take approximately eight weeks up to the end of October.

Provisions for accessing the school bus loading zone will be made.

Section of Dawson Road to Undergo Road Construction

Starting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, Dawson Road, between Fassina Street and Strand Avenue, will undergo road construction. Work will include asphalt resurfacing and repairs to the curb and gutter, and catch basins.

Lane closures will occur during the work and traffic may be delayed during busy times.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to take alternate routes if possible, use extra caution, and obey all posted signage when travelling near the construction area.

A new platform specifically for the recruitment of physicians and medical professionals was launched today by Thunder Bay CEDC.
