Call for Historic Photographs of Chapples Golf Course

The 70th Anniversary of Chapples Golf Course will be celebrated this July with a commemorative event.

The City is looking for citizens to share their memories of the course through photographs. Photos from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s would be a welcome addition to upcoming 70 year celebration.

City of Thunder Bay AA Rating Reaffirmed

S+P Global Ratings has reaffirmed the City of Thunder Bay’s credit rating of AA, with a stable outlook. Thunder Bay's positive budgetary performance, low municipal debt burden, and exceptional liquidity position led S&P Global to reaffirm the rating for a third consecutive year.

Construction Impacts on Arthur Street East and Marks Street South

Sewer infrastructure repairs are taking place on Thursday, June 20, on Arthur Street East and Marks Street South. Construction is expected to complete by end of the day.

Arthur Street East, from Franklin Street South to Vickers Street South will be reduced to one lane of traffic in both the eastbound and westbound directions. 

Impacts of the construction will result in the following turns being prohibited:

  • Left-hand turns from Arthur Street East onto Marks Street South

The waterfront splash pad at Prince Arthur’s Landing officially opens tomorrow, Saturday, June 15. With the splash pad opening, the City is encouraging residents to come down to the waterfront on those hot sunny days to cool off and enjoy the many events, activities and facilities available to the public during the summer months.

Thunder Bay Drug Strategy Celebrates 10 Years

It’s been ten years since the Thunder Bay Drug Strategy held its first meeting in 2009, led then by the now Honourable Patty Hajdu, Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay-Superior North and Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour. Minister Hajdu joined the anniversary celebration today at City Hall to mark the occasion since the Thunder Bay Drug Strategy began as a steering committee in April 2009.
