Water Rescue Ends with a Successful Rescue of a Young Female and her Dog

Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue (TBFR) responded at 14:51 to a High/Low Angle rescue at Centennial Park’s off leash Dog Park. During our response to this scene further information was received that a young female had entered the water to retrieve her dog both becoming stranded. They were located on a small rock outcrop with a cliff embankment behind them and fast moving water in front trapping them there.

City Announces First-Ever Tech and Gaming Event

The City of Thunder Bay is inviting everyone to ‘Quest: Thunder Bay's First Annual Tech & Gaming Event’, presented by Ontario Power Generation.

Leaf & Yard Waste Collection Takes Place Between May 14-24

The City of Thunder Bay’s spring curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will take place from May 14 - 24, on resident’s regular recycling days.
Homeowners must use Kraft paper bags for leaf and yard waste. Kraft bags are available at most hardware and grocery stores. Regular bag weight limits of 18 kg/40 lbs or less apply.
Branches and brush may also be left at the curb for collection. Bundles of branches must be less than one metre (39 inches) long and no more than 61 cm or (24 inches)...

Temporary Closure of Boulevard Dam Pedestrian Walkway

The pedestrian walkway at the top of the Boulevard Lake Dam will be closed on Monday, May 13; Tuesday, May 14; Tuesday, May 21, and Wednesday, May 22.
The purpose of the closure is to do maintenance and repairs to the deck top of the walkway.
For an alternate route, utilize the trail to Cumberland Street. Signs will be posted indicating that the walking route is closed while repairs are underway.
