Call for Talent: Join the City’s Annual Summer Events

The City of Thunder Bay is inviting performing artists to apply to participate in the City’s annual summer events series.
Various participation opportunities include over 15 event days, with two major single-day events and two event series. All events are free to the public and collectively draw thousands of attendees. Annual summer events include:

Landlord Ticketed For Smoke Alarm Violation

A McBain Street landlord has been ticketed for failing to maintain a smoke alarm in operating condition. The ticket carries a fine of $360.

Public Invited to Education Sessions on Roundabouts

The City of Thunder Bay is hosting two Public Education Sessions regarding roundabouts in Thunder Bay. The Session will outline how to use a roundabout, the benefits of roundabouts and give citizens an opportunity to ask questions, share their views and provide comments.
A roundabout is a circular intersection designed to maximize safety, minimize delay and decrease fuel consumption. There are no traffic lights or stop signs at a roundabout.

Deadline Extended - SnowDay Sculpture Competition Seeks Artist-led Teams

The annual SnowDay Snow Sculpture Competition will take place this year during SnowDay on the Waterfront activities on Family Day, Monday, Feb. 18. Applications to take part in the Snow Sculpture competition are now being accepted. The deadline to submit an application has been extended until Friday, Jan. 11, 2019.
