Waddington Park undergoing renewal work

Some amenities will be closed starting Monday, June 3 at Waddington Park in Current River as improvements are carried out on site.

During this time, the park will be open and sports fields will not be affected. However, the tennis and basketball courts will be closed for repaving, and sections of multi-use trail will be closed in work areas. This work may take until the end of September to complete.

The City of Thunder Bay is thrilled to announce that 2024 Juno Award winner, Aysanabee, will perform at Canada Day on the Waterfront, presented by Ontario Power Generation, on July 1, 2024.

Aysanabee is Oji-Cree and part of the Sucker Clan of Sandy Lake First Nation. He has connections to Thunder Bay and region as he spent his formative years living just north of the city. Mountdale Boat Launch to close for renewal

The Mountdale Boat Launch is scheduled to close for improvements starting Monday, June 3.

The boat launch and the park area will be closed to the public as the work gets underway, with completion expected by September 30, dependent on weather. The City thanks users for their patience during this closure.

The Mission Island Boat Lauch remains available to the public on 107th Avenue on Mission Island.

The City’s Clean, Green & Beautiful (CGB) Committee is encouraging local organizations to apply for funding for emerging projects that beautify the city and enhance civic pride through public art, beautification, heritage and environmental greening initiatives.
