National Coaches Week is underway across Canada to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities. National Coaches Week runs from Sept. 17 to 25. This week puts a spotlight on coaches and gives this integral, and largely volunteer part of Canadian sport, a thank you. Nominations are officially open for the 12th Annual Mayor’s Community Safety Awards, which recognize Thunder Bay citizens and groups who are working to make our city safer and more equitable.
The awards are hosted by the City and Community Safety & Well-Being Thunder Bay. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct. 7, at 4:30 pm.
The awards will be presented during a special ceremony during the Nov. 14, 2022 meeting of Thunder Bay City Council.

Voter Information Letters (VILs) will start arriving by mail next week to all eligible Thunder Bay electors currently on the voters’ list for the upcoming 2022 Municipal & School Board Election.
“VILs contain important information on how, when and where to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election,” says Krista Power, City Clerk and Returning Officer.
