Thunder Bay CEDC provides $40,000 in funding to support the recovery of the local culinary and tourism sector

The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce $40,000 in funding to help support the Waterfront BIA’s StrEATery project. The CEDC’s Board of Directors approved the funding through an Economic Development Reserve Fund (EDRF) grant which aims to support local projects and initiatives that create jobs and stimulate business.

The eighth annual respect. Award recipients were announced today with the honour going to one local organization and one individual based on their efforts to exemplify respect in the community. Community leader Roopa Rakshit and the Therapeutic Recreation Department at Pioneer Ridge Long Term Care and Senior Services received a respect. COVID-19: Playgrounds Begin Reopening and Council Continues Virtual Meetings

The City is pleased to begin reopening park playgrounds to residents starting today and over the coming week. City Council meetings will continue to remain virtual at this time with options available for virtual deputations.

The public comment period on the proposed Chapples multi-use indoor turf facility is extended until Monday, Aug. 3, to offer additional opportunity for input.

The Thunder Bay & District Entrepreneur Centre is excited to announce that Thunder Bay businesses are now eligible to sign up for a free website through Digital Main Street’s ShopHERE program. The ShopHERE program offers businesses and artists the opportunity to build a digital presence and minimize the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
