The Public is invited to attend a Public Meeting, which City Council will be holding on:

Monday, August 26th, 2019, 6:30 p.m.

Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, City Hall

500 Donald Street East

to consider the planning application detailed in the following pages.

Purpose of Meeting:

  • For the applicant to present the proposal
  • For interested parties to express their opinion about the proposal
  • For community input to be used to evaluate the proposal

Purpose and Effect of Proposal

The purpose of the proposed Amendment is to amend the general regulations and the "R2" – Residential Zone Two regulations of the Zoning By-law as it relates to 1510 Victoria Avenue East. The proposed Amendment would:

  • Permit a parking lot to connect directly to a lane without a driveway or parking aisle,
  • Establish the required number of parking spaces at 1.0 from per dwelling unit,
  • Add Apartment Dwelling as a permitted use on an interior lot at this site,
  • Add Apartment Dwelling with a maximum of 5 units as a permitted use in the existing building at this site,
  • Establish the required frontage for an Apartment Dwelling at 15.2m,
  • Establish the required lot area for an Apartment Dwelling at 535m2,
  • Allow the building existing on the effective date of the amending By-law to remain in its existing location, and
  • Establish any other related development parameters.

The effect of this Amendment would be to permit the conversion of the existing residential building into a 5-unit Apartment Dwelling. 

The applicant’s site plan and a key map of the subject lands have been provided.
