City Announces National Youth Week’s Virtual Programming

Posted On Thursday April 29, 2021

The City of Thunder Bay is excited to host virtual programming once again this year in celebration of National Youth Week from May 1 to May 7. The Recreation and Culture Division, along with other community partners, has arranged different virtual events for youth ages 12–24 to participate in throughout the week with a focus on well-being. All events are free to attend.

“We may have had to go virtual this year, but that won’t stop us from having fun and engaging with youth from Thunder Bay,” says Nina Arcon, Program Supervisor of Children, Youth & Strategic Initiatives. “Now more than ever, the youth in our city need an outlet to celebrate themselves and to make connections despite the circumstances. Youth Week does just that by making sure there is an event for everyone.”

Each day of Youth Week is themed with multiple events. Events include baking challenges, fitness routines with instructors from the Canada Games Complex, creative crafts and so much more! Events that require registration will be first come, first served. Registration for these events will close 24 hours prior to the event, so get your spot early!

There will also be ongoing events occurring throughout the week that feature prizes including Support Our Local Photo Contest by submitting a photo eating your favourite local food; Nominate a Youth who has made an engaging impact on their community this year; and Thunder Bay's Got Talent.
