Canada Post Strike – Payment and Invoice Processing Updates

Canada Post workers are currently on strike which impacts our ability to process mail and payments in a timely manner. In light of this, we want to ensure that our suppliers and vendors can continue to submit their invoices and receive payments without unnecessary delay.


Here are the key actions we recommend:

First of Two Fall Leaf & Yard Waste Curbside Collections Begins Next Week

This Fall there will be two Leaf & Yard Waste curbside collection periods. The first will begin next week, taking place between Oct. 7 and 17, and the second will take place between Nov. 4 and 14 - on residents’ regular recycling days.

Waste collection date change and Landfill closure: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The curbside waste collection date will change next week for residents whose collection day is customarily Tuesday (Area 1). The collection date will move one day earlier to Monday, Sept. 29, to accommodate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation statutory holiday on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Collection dates for Areas 2, 3 and 4 are unchanged.

Artists Announced for North Core Public Art Installations

The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce the selection of two individual artists and one artist team who are creating new public artworks as part of the North Core Streetscape Project.
