Temporary Vickers Street Road Closure Starts Tomorrow

Vickers Street North will be closed to through traffic, between Cameron and Finlayson streets, starting Tuesday, July 31 at 7 am for sewer and water construction. The closure is expected to last up to four weeks.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes, follow posted construction signage and to use extra caution when travelling near the construction area.

The City of Thunder Bay’s Live on the Waterfront hosts its sixth edition of the season on Aug. 1 with headliner Shred Kelly.

Soaked in electric crescendos and folk-tinged, sing-along anthems, Shred Kelly is known for their high-energy live show that ignites dance floors with their alternative folk sound. The City of Thunder Bay, in partnership with Club Culturel Francophone de Thunder Bay, are hosting Machine de Cirque’s Truck Stop at Live on the Waterfront on Saturday, July 28 at 5:30 pm and 9:30 pm.

Machine de Cirque is an organization whose mission is to bring together various actors from the arts and technology world around circus show production projects. The Québec City organization focuses on production excellence and the sustainable development of its team and encourages exchanges and collaboration...

Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra to Play Live on the Waterfront

The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to host the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday, July 25 at Live on the Waterfront, in collaboration with Superior Theatre Festival.

For the first time ever, the full orchestra will play a free outdoor show.

“It is exciting to have thousands of people able to enjoy our orchestra at once,” said Ash Young, Cultural Development & Events Supervisor. “It’s a great way to help them expand their audience.”

Thunder Bay’s Fourth Pedestrian Crossover Activated

Thunder Bay’s fourth Pedestrian Crossover has been activated on James Street, near the Thunder Bay Kinsmen Centre.

Motorists and cyclists using James Street must now stop when a pedestrian is waiting to cross and the crossover lights start flashing. Crossovers make it easy, safe and convenient for people to cross the street.
