Arthur Street Eastbound Traffic Lanes to Close Tomorrow

Eastbound traffic lanes on Arthur Street, between James Street and Leland Avenue, will be closed on Saturday, July 14 to accommodate storm sewer construction.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes, follow posted construction signage and to use extra caution when travelling near the construction area.

City Seeks to Revise Boulevard Dam Water Permit

A pre-hearing was held today concerning the City of Thunder Bay's permit to take water for Boulevard Dam. The permit to take water allows the City to store water from Current River to create Boulevard Lake. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change issued the City a new permit on April 30, 2018, and the City has concerns with some of the new terms. The City is going through a legal process to try to have the permit revised.
The pre-hearing is the first step in the process...
Violence Condemned

In response to an incident of violence yesterday evening in the Water Street area, Mayor Keith Hobbs made the following statement on behalf of City Council and Administration:
“We are deeply saddened by an incident of violence that occurred Wednesday evening in the Water Street area. We have reported the incident and follow up social media posts to Thunder Bay Police Service and commend those people who intervened and helped.
As a City, we condemn hate-motivated crimes and discriminatory attitudes....
