Balmoral Street and Sibley Drive Intersection to Close Thursday

August 8, 2016 - The intersection at Balmoral Street and Sibley Drive will be closed on Thursday, Aug. 11, for construction of a new storm sewer. 
The closure affects the west side of Balmoral Street (side on which the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is located). The east side of the intersection remains open to traffic. The intersection at William Street and Balmoral Street is also reopened.

Businesses located along Sibley Drive will remain open and can be accessed via the William Street...

August 8, 2016 - Federal support is on the way as the City continues to detect, monitor and manage the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Thunder Bay.

Dr. Krista Ryall is a Forest Ecological Entomologist with Natural Resources Canada - Canadian Forest Service and specializes in the study of insect pests and how to minimize their impact on forest resources. Improvements to Water Street Continue Monday

August 5, 2016 - Improvements to Water Street will continue on Monday, which will require initial lane closures as well as a complete closure of the section undergoing repair on Tuesday.

On Monday, Aug. 8, lane closures will occur to accommodate manhole leveling. On Tuesday, Aug. 9, Water Street will be closed from Cumberland Street to Cumberland Street as resurfacing work is completed.

The road is expected to reopen to traffic on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

August 5, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay has received a commendation letter from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for standards met, and exceeded by Superior North Emergency Medical Services (SNEMS) during a recent recertification inspection.

2016 Road Work Projects Well Underway

August 4, 2016 - A busy road work season is taking place in Thunder Bay. Projects to be undertaken in 2016 include road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sewer and watermain repair/replacement, bridge and culvert work and streetlight renewal.

The City of Thunder Bay is investing $19.1 million in 2016 on these improvements and related infrastructure.
