Paving to Reduce Dawson Road to One Lane in Each Direction

June 7, 2017 - A section of Dawson Road between Skyline Avenue and Hilldale Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction, due to pavement rehabilitation starting on Monday, June 12.
The pavement rehabilitation will involve removal of the existing asphalt surface, new curb and gutter replacement, and resurfacing of the street with two lifts of asphalt pavement. The road work will take place in two stages.

Section of James Street to Close Due to Storm Sewer Work

June 7, 2017 - Storm sewer reconstruction on James Street between Victoria Avenue and Churchill Drive in the vicinity of the Neebing River will begin on Monday, June 12, and is expected to take approximately 16 weeks to complete.
As construction proceeds, the road will be closed to through traffic, local traffic will be permitted. A detour route for through traffic will be established on Churchill Drive, Edward Street and Victoria Avenue.

Treasure Exchange Days Return this Weekend

June 7, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay's popular Treasure Exchange Days return on June 10 and 11, giving residents a chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures while reducing waste.
Anyone with gently-used items that they wish to give away can leave them out on the curb any time after 5 pm, on Friday, June 9. Clearly label the items "free". Over the weekend, residents are encouraged to tour their neighbourhoods to see what treasures they can find.

Section of Oliver Road to Close for Sewer and Water Work

June 6, 2017 - A section of Oliver Road between Frankwood Avenue and Balmoral Street will be closed on Wednesday, June 7, for new water service installation.
The closure will be in effect from 8 am to approximately 6 pm, or until work is complete.
While the road will be closed to through traffic, local traffic will be permitted.
Two detour routes will be established at Langworthy Crescent and at Frankwood Avenue to Hollylane Street through to Balmoral Street.
