Mayor Hobbs Declares June 3 Mining Day

June 1, 2017 - Thunder Bay will celebrate its rich mining heritage on Saturday, June 3, which has been declared Mining Day by Mayor Hobbs.
Mayor Hobbs made the declaration at a ceremony today, June 1, at Mariner's Hall at Prince Arthur's Landing. He was joined by representatives of the City of Thunder Bay, Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, and Northwestern Ontario Prospectors Association.

June 1, 2017 - Enzo Fabiano and John Gould of Union Gas will receive Fire Safety Awards from the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council at a ceremony today in Toronto. The annual Fire Safety Awards recognize outstanding contributions to fire protection and prevention in Ontario.

Archives Open House and Public Tours Celebrate International Archives Day

May 31, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay Archives will be celebrating International Archives Day on Friday, June 9, with an Open House and public tours. Residents are invited to visit the City Archives to take a behind the scenes tour of the facility, see the newly renovated public research area, explore the collection and view an onsite exhibit. Section of 20th Side Road Will Be Closed for Railway Track Repairs

May 31, 2017 - A section of 20th Side Road will be closed on Thursday, June 1, to through traffic, due to railway track repairs. 20th Side Road will be closed between Arthur Street and Rosslyn Road. The work is expected to take up to eight hours starting at 9 am.
