City Archives Celebrates Women's History Month

October 7, 2016 - During the month of October, the Status of Women Canada celebrates Women's History Month and City Archives is re-launching an on-line exhibit to recognize women who have contributed to the history of Thunder Bay.

Kingsway School Helps Kick-Off Fire Prevention Week

October 11, 2016 "” Thunder Bay Fire Rescue kicked-off National Fire Prevention Week at Kingsway Elementary School today. Grade 4 students at Kingsway educated a gymnasium full of classmates, teachers, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue personnel and Mayor Keith Hobbs on the importance of working smoke alarms and home fire safety.
Fire Prevention Week runs from Oct. 9-15, and this year's theme is "Don't Wait - Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years".

Road Work to Start on Edward Street at Churchill Drive

October 6, 2016 - The intersection of Edward Street and Churchill Drive is scheduled for road and storm sewer construction, expected to start on Tuesday, Oct. 11, and continue for approximately one week.
Edward Street will be closed to North/South traffic flow over this period. Detour routes will be posted.
Only North-to-West traffic movement will be available on Edward Street. Churchill Drive will be open to limited East-to-South traffic movement.
