December 21, 2016 - With the holiday season upon us, we are entering one of the most festive times of the year. But it can also be a deadly time of the year. Thunder Bay Fire Rescue is urging everyone to pay special attention when cooking during the holidays, and to drink responsibly. Holiday Tree Drop-off Sites Open Boxing Day

December 20, 2016 - The City will once again recycle natural trees this holiday season, grinding the trees into wood chips to be added to the compost pile at the City's Solid Waste and Recycling Facility. Compost is given away each spring to beautify residents' lawns and flower gardens.

Municipal Division Employees Give over $213,000 to United Way

December 15, 2016 - Employees of the City of Thunder Bay, Superior North EMS, and Thunder Bay Public Library proudly pledged $213,141.72 to the United Way today following the close of the Municipal Division's 21st Annual United Way Employee Campaign, $16,866.72 over the campaign goal.
At a special wrap-up celebration, cheques where presented to United Way Executive Director Jared Zieroth valued at:
- Thunder Bay Public Library: $2,673.81
- Superior North EMS: $34,635.10
- City of Thunder Bay: $175,832.81

2016 Santa Bus Food Drive an Overwhelming Success

December 13, 2016 - Thanks to the generosity of Thunder Bay citizens, the Annual Santa Bus campaign has had yet another successful year, bringing in more than 11,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and almost $2,000 in cash donations for the Thunder Bay Food Bank. This total surpasses last year's campaign by nearly 4,000 pounds of goods.
