Work begins on Memorial & Harbour Expressway Intersection

Travelers are reminded to expect some detours and delays as reconstruction work begins at the Memorial Avenue and Harbour Expressway intersection.

Overnight work will begin one day earlier than previously announced, with the intersection partially closed between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. starting on Monday, May 27 and ending Saturday, June 1.

Work to close section of Oliver Road starting Tuesday

Infrastructure work associated with a new development will temporarily close a portion of Oliver Road starting on May 28.

Oliver Road will close between Burwood Road and Conservation Road on the morning of Tuesday, May 28, and is scheduled to reopen by end of day on Wednesday, May 29. This closure will impact access to the Thunder Bay Expressway via Oliver Road.

Residents are invited to participate in two upcoming Arbor Day events, celebrating the vital role trees play in our community while helping to grow Thunder Bay’s tree canopy.

Leaf and Yard Waste Collection coming May 21 - 31

Curbside collection of leaf and yard waste is coming between May 21 and May 31, on residents’ regular recycling day.

Only Kraft (paper bags) will be accepted for leaf and yard waste. Bags are available at most hardware and grocery stores. Each filled bag must weigh less than 18 kg (40 lbs.).

Residents may also leave branches and brush at the curb for collection. Bundles of branches must be less than one metre (39 inches) long and 61 cm (24 inches) in diameter, tied with string or rope.
