Live on the Waterfront Festival Begins July 19 Marina Park

The City is pleased to present this year's Live on the Waterfront summer concert line-up, presented by Ontario Power Generation. The festival will take place every Wednesday from July 19 to Aug. 23, from 6 to 9 pm, at the Festival Area in Marina Park.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Lifts Fire Ban - July 2023

Effective 4 pm today, July 11, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue will lift the fire ban. All recreational fire permits will be reinstated for burning starting at 5 pm this evening.

Lifting the ban is consistent with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests Restricted Fire Zone declaration which will also be lifted at 4 pm today.

Residents are reminded that all outdoor burning require permits in The City of Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay Hosting Evacuees from Eabametoong First Nation

Yesterday, the City of Thunder Bay began to receive evacuees from Eabametoong First Nation. Due to a water service disruption in the First Nation community, the Province issued a request to Thunder Bay to be a host community. Thunder Bay will host approximately 200 people from Eabametoong.

Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre Temporarily Closed Due to Vandalism

The Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre, located at 700 River Street, is temporarily closed due acts of vandalism. Over the evening (July 6 – 7), several windows were broken at the facility. Given the extent of damage, the Centre remains closed and all programming is cancelled July 7 – 9, as crews work on clean-up and repair. Impacted stakeholder groups have been contacted directly.
