Section of Simpson Street to Close for Infrastructure Repairs

The section of Simpson Street between Finlayson Street and Heron Street will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 7, to allow for infrastructure repairs.
The road will be closed as of 6 am Tuesday. The work is expected to be completed and the road reopened by the end of the day.
Drivers are asked to obey the construction signs, drive with caution, and use alternate routes around the construction zone.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Chief Greg Hankkio is pleased to announce that Martin Hynna is the successful candidate for the position of Deputy Fire Chief. Hynna started on October 27.

The City of Thunder Bay, in partnership with Lakehead Social Planning Council, has launched an Affordable Access to Recreation & Transit pilot program to reduce financial barriers for eligible residents to access City recreation and transit programs and services.

The City has unveiled this year’s exceptional individuals and organizations inducted into the Women’s History Month Exhibit, as well as the related artwork to be featured on the City’s newest Art Bus.
