CityStudio is a multi-partner community campus engagement initiative with a focus on projects that support the City’s Community Safety & Well-Being Plan's Priority Areas.

How CityStudio Works

The CityStudio Thunder Bay model works through a project cycle where people come together to co-create projects, and create solutions. The model works like this:

  • Bring municipal staff together to brainstorm opportunities for collaboration
  • Match opportunities with post-secondary courses and form partnerships between faculty, students and staff
  • Students develop projects with support from CityStudio, faculty and staff partners
  • Students develop and/or test their projects in the community and present their final results
  • Share all student work with staff partners and celebrate top projects with the community
