Section of Arthur Street to Close for Rail Crossing Rehabilitation

July 24, 2015 - Arthur Street from Waterloo Street to Kingsway will close to all through traffic on Monday, July 27 to allow for rehabilitation of the rail crossing and approaches.
The closure is expected to last one week.
The construction schedule is subject to change, as various factors - such as weather - can have an impact on project timelines.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, and those travelling in the area are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage.

City to Seek Support from Province Regarding Assessments

July 21, 2015 – City Council agreed on Monday to implement, without further appeal, a decision of the Assessment Review Board (ARB) regarding a 54% reduction in the valuation of the Resolute mill from $72.2 million to $32.6 million for the 2009-2012 taxation years.

2015 Road Work Season Continues

July 16, 2015 - A busy road work season is taking place in Thunder Bay. Projects to be undertaken in 2015 include road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sewer and watermain repair/replacement, bridge work and streetlight renewal. The City of Thunder Bay is investing $40 million on these improvements and related infrastructure, including $380,000 in the Enhanced Infrastructure Renewal Program Capital Budget in 2015. July 16, 2015 - The intersection of Walsh and James Streets will close to all traffic at 9 am on Friday, July 17, for resurfacing.

River Street to Close to Facilitate Water Main Construction

July 14, 2015 - The eastbound lane of River Street between Rockwood Avenue to Pine Street will be closed for part of the day on Wednesday, July 15 to facilitate water main construction.
The closure is expected to last about six hours, beginning in the morning. Westbound traffic will not be affected.
A detour will be posted to take eastbound traffic around the worksite via Rockwood Avenue, Dawson Street and Pine Street.
