February 3, 2015 -Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, Tbaytel and the Lakehead University Thunderwolves Hockey Team have joined forces to promote fire safety with the creation of this year's fire safety hockey cards. Today at St James School members of the Thunderwolves Hockey Team joined Thunder Bay Fire Rescue in educating grade four students.

2015 LU Hockey Cards Highlight Fire Safety to Fans

January 29, 2015 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, Tbaytel and the Lakehead University Thunderwolves have again partnered to release limited edition hockey cards of this year's varsity hockey team that highlight fire safety messaging.
"Fire and life safety education is one of our top priorites," said Thunder Bay Fire Rescue's Public Education Officer Anthony Stokaluk. "These cards allow us to spread our fire safety messages in a fun and unique way."

City Resident Found Guilty of Illegal Outdoor Burning

January 29, 2015 - A Loch Lomond Road resident was found guilty of illegal outdoor burning earlier this week in Provincial Offences court and was fined $350. The charge stems from a July 2014 incident.
"Any outside burning within the City of Thunder Bay requires an annual permit," said Fire Chief John Hay. "Permit rules and regulations are strictly enforced."

City Council Authorizes Sale of Royal Edward Arms Building

January 26, 2015 - City Council tonight authorized the sale of the Royal Edward Arms building located at 108-114 May St S. The building was marketed through an Expression of Interest and Request for Proposals process in November 2014, after Thunder Bay District Housing Corporation announced it would not be renewing its lease for the building.
