Local Crossing Guard celebrates 40 years of service

The City of Thunder Bay congratulates Crystal Wilson on 40 years of service as a Crossing Guard in the city.

Since March 10, 1983, Crystal Wilson has been safely helping students cross busy roadways on their way to and from school – never missing a day.

Spending most of her years at St. Francis School, Crystal has watched hundreds of kids grow up and helped multiple generations of the same families.

Complex to close temporarily in June for maintenance

A report from Administration will be presented to City Council on March 6 recommending that a contract be awarded for significant maintenance and construction work at the Canada Games Complex.

Subject to Council’s approval, the facility will close for approximately four months, beginning on June 4. The cost of the work $3 million, and is being partially (80%) funded through the Federal Government’s Green and Inclusive Community Building Fund.

Water Service Restored in Mount Forest Blvd Area

Water service to Mount Forest Blvd area has now been restored, after water service work in the area necessitated a shutdown of the water main feeding all services north of Hwy 61 west of Mount Forest Blvd, and west of and including Mountain Rd.

The Thunder Bay Coalition to End Human Trafficking and Community Safety & Well-Being Thunder Bay will host a free Human Trafficking Information Session for parents and caregivers today, Feb. 22, to mark the annual National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.
