The Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre celebrated 30 years of friendship and service on Sept. 29, with a Centre celebration. Events included a community BBQ with live music, speeches recognizing the 30 years of service, a bake sale, and car show held the following day.

Waste Collection Date Changes for Week of Sept. 27

The upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will result in date changes for waste and recycling collection during the week of Sept. 27. City residents with regular waste and recycling collection on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will receive collection one day earlier. Friday collection remains unchanged.

Orange Shirt Day, and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021. Notice is hereby given that the Council of The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay, at its meeting held on Monday, November 25, 2019, declared surplus, once vested, to the City’s requirements pursuant to the City’s policies, the following properties:

(C214) The lands and building municipally known as 300 Finlayson Street, described as Lot 3, Block 34, Registered Plan W54, having an area of 352.51 square metres or 3,794.43 square feet. The City proposes to sell the property on the open market.

17th Annual Mayor’s Mulligan Raises Funds & Awareness for PRO Kids

The 17th Annual Mayor’s Mulligan Golf Tournament presented by Enbridge Gas, announced today that $21,540 was raised during this year’s event in support of PRO Kids. This bringing the total raised in the past 17 years to $214,540 for charitable organizations. A cheque was presented by Mayor Bill Mauro and Luke Skaarup, Regional Director Enbridge Gas, to Laura Daniele, PRO Kids Coordinator, during the Mayor’s Mulligan on Friday, Sept. 10.
