City Invites Input to Advance Indigenous Relations in Thunder Bay

The City of Thunder Bay is seeking input to help shape the future of Indigenous Relations in Thunder Bay. Members of the Indigenous community, community partners, service providers, and the general public are asked to get involved as the City plans its way forward.

Community input will be used to help prioritize areas of action such as more Indigenous spaces in the City, increased awareness of Indigenous culture, more responsive City services, additional community supports, and a focus on anti-racism...

The City of Thunder Bay, along with local Indigenous artists, are excited to launch the City’s new Maamawe Art Bus created by five local Indigenous youth artists. Residents are invited to attend the unveiling event at the Transit Terminal Main Depot, 570 Fort William Road, at 1pm on Monday, Feb. 28. (Masks and social distancing are required.) City of Thunder Bay Celebrates Winter with SnowDay Activities

The City of Thunder Bay is excited to provide winter activities for the whole family throughout the Family Day weekend. The usual SnowDay on the Waterfront event has been modified for 2022 due to ongoing pandemic impacts. Nominations are now open for the 10th Annual respect.Awards, recognizing individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community that have demonstrated leadership in enhancing diversity, inclusion, equity and respect for others.

The Awards were established by the Respect Initiative Working Group and are sponsored by Diversity Thunder Bay. Two recipients will receive awards this year, including an individual and one for an organization or business.

City of Thunder Bay Announces Winter FunDays Activities

The City of Thunder Bay is excited to announce the return of Winter FunDays in 2022. The weekly activities will be held every Sunday in neighbourhoods throughout the city, from Sunday, Jan. 30 to Sunday, March 10 - from 2 pm to 4 pm. All activities will take place outdoors. Participants will be required to adhere to all COVID protocols, including mandatory masks and physical distancing.
