Crime Prevention Council Raises Alarm on Home Takeovers

The City of Thunder Bay’s Crime Prevention Council is raising the alarm in the community about home takeovers, which involves unwanted guests taking over the place of a homeowner or tenant for shelter or to conduct illegal activities.

2019 Mayor’s Community Safety Award Nominations Open

The Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council is calling for nominations for the Ninth Annual Mayor’s Community Safety Awards, which recognize Thunder Bay residents and groups who are working to make our city safer.

Nominations officially open today, and the deadline for submissions is Oct. 4 at 4:30 pm.

The awards will be presented during a special ceremony that will take place during the Nov. 4 meeting of Thunder Bay City Council.

Start of Fort William Garden’s Ice Season Delayed

The Fort William Gardens start to this year’s ice season will be delayed as a result of problems with the arena’s refrigeration system which is used to freeze and maintain the rink surface. Originally slated to open on Sept. 20, the Fort William Gardens is now expected to be operational beginning Sept. 27.

Thunder Bay CEDC Launches New Tool for Health Recruitment

A new platform specifically for the recruitment of physicians and medical professionals was launched today by Thunder Bay CEDC.
