Busy Road Work Season Continues

The City of Thunder Bay is investing $18 million in 2020, on road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sanitary and storm sewers, watermain repair/replacement, bridge and culvert work, and streetlight renewal.
Road work can result in road closures, detours and delays for drivers. All residents are reminded to reduce their speed, be alert, watch for workers and drive with extra care in construction zones.

Today, the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) hosted an outdoor event to celebrate the success of 32 foreign skilled workers who have received a community recommendation through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). The successful candidates have received full-time permanent jobs with over 16 local employers and can now apply for their permanent residency with the Federal Government.

Roadwork at Simpson Street and Pacific Avenue Tomorrow

On Wednesday, August 26, traffic in all directions at the intersection of Simpson Street and Pacific Avenue, as well as the Pacific Avenue Bridge, will be closed to facilitate roadwork.
The road closure is expected to last for one day. Detour routes will be posted.
Motorists are asked to drive with caution in the construction area.
